Art is What You Can Get Away With – Andy Warhol

The work of Encore Multimedia’s own talented Senior Graphic Designer, Nic Trent, graced the pages of the September 2019 edition of EGuide magazine. The article, “Inside the Artist’s Studio,” featured two of Nic’s whimsical and vibrant works, Discovery and We’re Fine.

Nic began his artistic journey at an early age, creating school paper scribbles and church bulletin doodles. At the suggestion of a fellow church member, Nic decided to turn his creativity into a career.

Nic is a graduate of Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, where he collaborated with graffiti writers Darshan Phillips and Aaron Whisner. Nic moved on to develop his unique style utilizing computerized compositions and incorporating wood surfaces/frames.

When asked about the influence of art in his life, Nic said, “Making art is a necessary therapeutic experience.” He added that it continues to be an integral and important part of his life, providing personal self-expression and aesthetic satisfaction.

For Nic, art is also about community. He joined with illustrator Jasey Beddingfield to create ArtParty, a self-published mini-magazine featuring East Texas artists.

The purpose of the zine is to give local artists the opportunity to showcase their work in a new medium targeted to new audiences. Through publications such as ArtParty and through his own involvement in the local art scene, Nic hopes to increase awareness of up-and-coming artists throughout East Texas and in the Longview area.

Encore is proud of Nic’s talent and achievements, and you can be assured that he brings the same passion and artistic flare to all his work.
