7 Leadership Tips to Simplify…and Lead*

Read these seven tips to simplify your life... and remember, it’s the decisions you make that define the leader you become.

  1. Leaders Are Readers. Read a book a week. You’ll be amazed at how much of what you read filers into the decisions you make on a daily basis.
  2. Get Up Early. This allows you to get head start on your day while also allowing space to cast vision and focus. If you have trouble getting up early, adjust your wake-up time in 15 to 30-minute increments. Get used to that. Then push it another 15 to 30-minute.
  3. Find Your Rhythm. Great leaders find a balance between work, family and friends. Rhythm allows you to work at maximum capacity.
  4. Be Organized. Be intentional about which areas of your life need a high level of organization. By the way, it’s okay if you want to leave the other areas a little messy.
  5. Learn to Say “No.” If you don’t have enough energy, time or passion to follow through on something, then it’s best to take a pass. You’ll thank yourself in the long run.
  6. Protect Your Time. The data says that workers are distracted every 11 minutes! Distractions destroy productivity and complicate life.
  7. Spend Time Alone. Solitude allows us to get to know ourselves. Our complex world pulls us in a thousand directions, and this time alone ensures we stay firmly rooted.
